who we are

The Santa Fe Solar Supporters coalition was created to represent the silent majority of New Mexicans that believe in a brighter future powered by clean, reliable, and community-focused energy. Large-scale solar farms with energy storage are a crucial step toward achieving Santa Fe County’s renewable energy goals, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and creating a more sustainable environment for all.

This coalition is comprised of dedicated residents who have called Santa Fe County home for decades, with many of our members tracing their roots here for generations. We are farmers, educators, small business owners, first responders, and everyday community members who have built our lives and livelihoods in this beautiful region. Our members have lived through the challenges and triumphs that have shaped Santa Fe, and we care deeply about its success and sustainability.

We have a real stake in the decisions made here because they affect not only our lives but also those of our children and grandchildren. We refuse to be silenced or have our vision for the county’s energy future overshadowed by individuals or groups who have only recently arrived. While we welcome new neighbors, we will not allow those moving here from other states to solely dictate how our county is run or hinder progress on projects that bring economic growth, energy independence, and environmental sustainability to our community.

Santa Fe’s energy future belongs to the people who have long called it home—those who understand its unique needs, value its rural character, and want to see it thrive with clean, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions like the Rancho Viejo Solar Project.
